St John’s Primary School is proud to announce the launch of its brand new website. Our new website is jam packed with a plethora of both exciting and important content relating to our school.
The School Council organised a celebration for St. George’s Day. The children were allowed to ‘accessorise’ their uniform with red and white – and as usual were most creative!
In May we celebrate the month of Mary. Children were given the opportunity to pray a decade of the rosary every lunchtime for one week. On the final school day in May the whole school celebrated in worship in the School Playground.
The whole school took part in the Easter Hat Parade, having worked on their amazing creations with their families. The theme this year was linked to our fundraising for Lent. This is the CAFOD – One World One Climate campaign. The hats featured ideas such as climate change, taking care of our environment and appreciating the wonder of nature. The hats were truly amazing
We Day is young people coming together to make the world a better place. This year it took place in Wembley Stadium and St. John’s School were invited; the children who attended are those who regularly volunteer in school (including School Council, Green Team, Lunchtime and classroom helpers etc).
A group of children enjoyed working with the Art Group from Time and Talents. The children were invited to work with the local senior citizens who attend the club. ‘I Love Rotherhithe’ was the theme for the workshop and the children and adults worked together, using the children’s ideas, to make a bag using the skill of printing. We welcome our international visitors Below are some pictures taken of the day that our school proudly hosted a visit from 25 teachers from Hubei. Hubei is a province of China, located in the easternmost part of Central China. We put on a special International Assembly and the Chinese Teachers enjoyed meeting the School Council and the Green Team.
